New Insane Episodes of ‘FLCL’ Teased in First Trailer from Adult Swim

Hold onto your hormones, there are all-new episodes of FLCL on the way and I don’t think the world is ready for them. Back in 2000, the six-episode first (and only) season of FLCL introduced audiences to a guitar-swinging heroine battling against a massively powerful industrial corporation and the 12-year-old boy caught in the middle. Part coming-of-age story, part off-the-wall anime sensation, FLCL was as difficult to wrap your head around was it was to pronounce. Now, 12 new episodes, over the course of two new seasons, are on the way, and the first trailer from Adult Swim suggests we’re in for more of the same insanity. More than 15 years since its original launch in Japan, Adult Swim and Production IG will premiere two new seasons of one of the most insane anime ever created, FLCL, starting on Saturday, June 2nd at 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). Debuting on Adult Swim’s popular anime block Toonami, the new seasons bring together members of the original animation team with a whole new generation of creators. Returning to reprise her role as the enigmatic “Haruko” is talented voice actress Kari Wahlgren (Rick and Morty, Teen Titans); both seasons will feature original music from Japanese alternative rock band The Pillows.
