The upcoming “Ready Player One” looks to break the imaginary record for most Easter Eggs hidden in a film. With everything from “Back to the Future” to “The Iron Giant” being referenced overtly in the film, director Steven Spielberg has gone on record saying that there are even more references to pop culture hidden throughout the film. However, he also had a rule going into the film—none of Spielberg’s own films were to be included. Apparently, his crew didn’t like that mandate. According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, the crew behind “Ready Player One” did everything in their power to sneak Spielberg film references into scenes. From hidden “Gremlins” grafitti to copies of “Schindler’s List” novels in the background, the crew’s goal was to see how many of these Easter Eggs snuck by the watchful eye of Spielberg. The director of sitcoms like “ Modern   Family ” and “ Life   in   Pieces ” has just signed on to direct the exact kind of film you’d expect – a gritty courtroom drama. Variety has just  reported  that  Jason Winer , who has directed episodes of the massive sitcom “Modern Family,” is set to helm a courtroom drama based on the infamous Gawker/Hulk Hogan case. And who better to create a film about a very intricate court case than a director known for showing just how silly the family dynamic truly can be? We’re just as confused. The film, titled “ Thiel v. Gakwer ,” examines the controversial court case between  Terry   Bollea , aka the legendary professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, and  Gawker , the former gossip/news outlet. The court case originated because Gawker ran an article that shared a sex tape featuring the wrestler, without the permission of Hogan. Toward the end of  Arnaud Desplechin ’s “ Ismael’s Ghosts ,” an actress character declares that a film director is “all over the film,” and that certainly seems to be the case for Desplechin himself. The personal nature of “Ismael’s Ghosts” is tangible in every frame: Ismael, the film’s protagonist played by  Mathieu Amalric , shares Desplechin’s obsessions with death, women, and obsession itself. And like Desplechin, Ismael is a filmmaker. “Ismael’s Ghosts” opens with a brief snippet of Ismaël’s latest film, a political thriller starring  Louis Garrel  as a mysterious French diplomat. While this sort of thing is outside Desplechin’s arty-French wheelhouse, he crafts a believably pulse-pounding film-within-a-film, establishing Ismaël as a director with actual talent. President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday vowed to end ‘Cycle Of Violence’ in Nigeria. The Nigerian leader made this known when he attended a town-hall meeting in Jos, the Plateau state capital, as part of a two-day official visit to the North-central state. The presidency had earlier announced in a statement that Buhari would be visiting some states that have suffered casualties resulting from clashes between farmers and herdsmen.

At least 17 people have been killed in a renewed attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen on Olosu in Okpokwu area of Benue state, North-central Nigeria. Chairman of Okpokwu local government Olofu Ogwuche confirmed the attack on Monday night. This incident comes barely two weeks after the Nigerian army launched Exercise Cat Race in the state.
