‘Deadpool 2’ Trailer: The Merc With A Mouth Officially Introduces X-Force
“Deadpool 2,” the sequel to the massively successful 2016 superhero action-comedy, comes with its share of behind-the-scenes drama. It started when Tim Miller, director of the original, stepped down from the project citing a classic case of “mutual creative differences.” Apparently, the conflict was between Miller and actor/producer Ryan Reynolds. According to reports, Miller “wanted more of a stylized sequel, while the actor placed his focus more on the raunchy comedy style that earned the first movie its R rating.”
Next, following the now-standard progression of production woes for a franchise film, reports of reshoots surfaced. Fans and media pundits wondered: Was “Deadpool 2” in trouble? As we covered yesterday, probably not. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the reshoots were simply to add a secret cameo, and excellent test screening scores are outperforming those of the original. If you loved “Deadpool,” it stands to reason you’ll be an even bigger fan of “Deadpool 2.”
And as we see in the newest trailer, the sequel “lives up to the hype, plus, plus.” In the trailer, we finally get an idea of what the plot is in “Deadpool 2.” Contrary to the synopsis below, the true plot of the film follows the Merc with a Mouth as he attempts to save a kid from the crazy guy from the future known as Cable. Of course, ‘DP,’ as his friends call him (and by friends, we mean the taxi cab driver from the first film), has to put together a team to take on Cable. As comic fans know, that team is known as X-Force, despite Domino saying, “sounds derivative.”
