‘Action Point’ Trailer: Jackass Johnny Knoxville Runs The Most Dangerous Water Park
Johnny Knoxville’s upcoming film “Action Point” seems like the film Johnny Knoxville has been waiting his entire life to make. The film is inspired by what was once New Jersey’s most dangerous water park (it had a waterslide that went in a complete loop) and Knoxville is definitely excited about it.
“It was like as if us, instead of doing ‘Jackass,’ decided to open a theme park. It has that same spirit like all the safety was left up to the people who walked in.” However, the making of this was not all fun and games for Knoxville. While on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, he mentioned that there’s a stunt that caused his eye to pop out TWICE.
Based on the full synopsis and trailer, it seems like “Action Point” will be another hybrid-type movie with actual stunts performed along with a scripted storyline. Like actual Academy Award nominee “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.”
Everyone’s favorite daredevil Johnny Knoxville is back to his hilariously painful antics in the upcoming comedy “Action Point.” Knoxville stars as D.C., the crackpot owner of a low-rent, out-of-control amusement park where the rides are designed with minimum safety for maximum fun. Just as D.C.’s estranged teenage daughter Boogie comes to visit, a corporate mega-park opens nearby and jeopardizes the future of Action Point. To save his beloved theme park and his relationship with his daughter, D.C. and his loony crew of misfits risk everything to pull out all the stops – and stunts – making for another wild ride from the star of “Bad Grandpa” and “Jackass.”
Pulling the stunts this time with Knoxville are Chris Pontius, Dan Bakkedahl, Matt Schulze, Eleanor Worthington-Cox, Johnny Pemberton, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Joshua Hoover, Conner McVicker, and Eric Manaka. “Action Point” will mark director Tim Kirby’s first time directing a feature film. Kirby has directed several episodes for some of the comedy shows on television: “Veep,” “Brockmire,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and “Fleabag.”
Catch “Action Point” in theaters on June 1.
